Change Functions
There are multiple teams or Change Functions operating at the University who are involved in all aspects of understanding, supporting and enabling the delivery of change activity. Various factors including the scope, complexity and cost of the change will determine which team will be involved. Not all projects or change activity will require the formal involvement of colleagues from the Change Functions, with guidance, toolkits and support in place to enable a 'self-serve' approach.
How do the functions work together?
As a large and complex organisation it won’t be a surprise to learn that there are a number of different services and teams that support Change. They are involved in many of the aspects of understanding, supporting and enabling the delivery of change activity, as well as helping the University to build capability and develop skills to support change.
Various factors including the scope, impact, complexity and cost of the change will determine how we can help you and which services or teams will be involved.
We believe delivering change in a coordinated way is important to ensure effective and efficient delivery. To enable this we have a number of cross institution ways of working including:
- Oversight of our transformation change activity under one coordinating group.
- We have aligned our change approaches so that when you are engaging with a particular service or team their approach is consistent and integrated, following good practice frameworks and standards.
- Coordinated oversight and assurance of change portfolios, working collaboratively to jointly review requests for support and ensure a sharing of resources and expertise.
- We have developed extensive and coordinated change communities to support colleagues involved or interested in change share expertise, learning and experiences.
