Scope and Planning
There are a series of tools within the scope and planning theme. These tools will help you understand and define the core reason for undertaking the project or change activity, imagine the desired future state, what will be impacted (and what will not), a timescale for delivery and how it will be resourced.
Justification
These tools will inform the 'why' and define the reasons for undertaking the project or change activity.
Understanding the Future
These tools will help you understand the current state alongside the future state you would like to achieve and that the project or change activity will look to realise.
Options and Requirements
Once you have defined the future state, more detailed investigation and analysis can be completed on what the requirements are to achieve that state and the different options available.
Plan
Once an option has been agreed, the steps towards delivery can be recorded in a planning tool. An assessment can then be made on what resource is required, and when, to enable the delivery. Any changes to this plan can be controlled through change management.
